Police arrest four suspects in possession of unlicensed firearms.
Four suspects who were arrested for the possession of unlicensed firearms and suspected stolen goods taken from alleged business robberies will appear in Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
A swift response by the police reaction team to the tip-off led to the arrest of the suspects.
Spokesperson for Gauteng Provincial police, Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the team responded to information from community members and proceeded to search a shop in Diepsloot and a house in Cosmo City.

He said during a search in Diepsloot, police seized a firearm suspected to have been stolen from a police officer in Olivenhoutbosch in 2012.
“This may lead to the arrest of more suspects involved in the robbery of such a firearm from a police officer,” Dlamini said.
One of the suspects was arrested in Cosmo City after police searched a residence.
“On searching the premises, police seized a fake platinum bar, watches, a laptop and a pistol with 25 rounds of ammunition,” Dlamini said.
He said that police would continue to intensify operations and deploy more officers to deal with business robberies, house robberies and hijacking of vehicles.
“There will be a quick response for any information on suspicious people and vehicles. Members of the public must continue to isolate criminals and contact the police emergency number 10111 at all hours.”
